Breakfast at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

I and my bf meet at around 10 am. It was kind of late already but, we both haven’t had our breakfast. We were thinking of where to eat when I remembered my free coupons at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf from my BDJ planner. There was a breakfast meal set coupon that entitles you to get a set for equal or lesser value. Sounds good right? We were looking forward to use it and we had the perfect time.

It was my first time to dine at CBTL. My bf ordered Eggs Ben(enedict) and I settled for Salmon Scramble. Both were priced 229 pesos. It’s quite expensive for a breakfast if bought with their regular prices. Our set comes with a choice of tea or coffee. I went for Strawberry and Cream, my bf picked brewed coffee. The foods were served a little less than seven minutes.



Salmon Scramble
Rosemary Foccacia bread topped with scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and our special dressing. I have it paired with Strawberry and Cream tea. It smells yummy and sweet but it does not taste as much. It's a tea anyway and I'm not really a fan of it hehe.

Eggs Ben, which is basically eggs benedict on rosemary focaccia, with a couple slices of bread and butter and jam. My bf love it, as much as I did.

Both breakfast sets are really a must try. It's a best way to start the day. :) Thanks BDJ for the coupon.

Teriyaki Boy Gateway Branch

We were supposed to eat at Red Crab last Saturday but their buffet promo ended already which made us settle for Teriyaki Boy instead.

Just as always, I let my bf pick the foods for us. He's a connoisseur of restaurants haha. Here's what we ordered.

Chashu Ramen - 150 (Regular)
(It is served with roast pork slices or chashu, Japanese fish cakes or kamaboko, hardboiled egg, nori strips and bokchoy or pechay. Pour in a Japanses teapot of shoyu, a light Japaneses soy and pork-based broth with a hint of ginger and seaweed or konbou.

Suki Beef Teppan Don - 160

This was what my bf ordered for himself. The beef is so tender. The rice felt slimy because of the raw egg yolk. It was delicious nevertheless.

I so love their roll! Usually, when we eat, I would haggle with my bf so he would eat more of the food I don't like so much. But, in this case, I was able to eat half of the serving. Good thing, there was no cucumber(as I don't eat it). The rice is incomparable from the other two maki rolls I have tasted in other restaurants. It was superb. :)

For the drinks, we ordered bottomless iced tea. We were glad that their service is good. They were aware when our glasses needed to be refilled already. Thumbs up! The only thing I would complain was the ventilation. It was warm. Or maybe, it was just because we where beside the window and the sun is at its peak that noon time. ;)

North Park Noodle House Trinoma

A day before our planned date, my bf asked me where would I want to eat. He was craving for Chinese cuisine that's why we settled for North Park Noodle House. He thought of SuperBowl but then, we have just eaten there a week before.

The soup is sumptuous. I enjoyed it even at the last spoonful of it.

After eating, we felt like we gained some pounds already. We were really full. We went out for a stroll at the mall then had a coffee at Starbucks and we even bought a cake at Red Ribbon. It was our first monthsary and we decided to buy a cake every 16th of the month. :)

Sakae Sushi; All Day Sushi Buffet

It’s been ages since I ate a sushi. I remember we made some when I was in college. Unfortunately, it was a failure hehe. With my bf craving for Japanese food, we went to Sakae sushi at SM North Edsa Annex for sushi overload. They have all-day sushi buffet, 399 pesos for adults and 199 for kids. It comes with free miso soup and a choice of hot or cold bottomless green tea. They have no left-over/no sharing policy for the sushi buffet. Sub charges will also be imposed on food wastage. You may also grab whatever sushi plates you want and just pay for it depending on the number and color of plates you consumed.

The sushi conveyor belt fascinated as it was my first time to eat there. I feasted on my eyes on the parade of sushi beside me. They all looked tasty. Yum! I let my bf get the sushi he fancies. He’s been twice to Sakae Sushi at MOA.



A single piece sushi is quite a mouthful. It is overstuffed with rice. After eating a few, I felt full already.

I wasn't able to take photos of all the sushis we've picked at the conveyor belt because I was helping myself to the food haha. Here are some of the sushi varieties. I wasn't able to name some of them.

This is my most unforgettable part of our sushi overload, Japanese Ginger. It is said to help cleanse the palate. It has antiseptic properties, and was originally eaten with sushi to counter the ill effects of bad fish. It is somewhat sweet and minty.

We enjoyed our meal and was able to finish more than 23 plates. Imagine that? we were only two. :)
